Emily of New Moon, the Graphic Novel

Based on the classic story by L.M. Montgomery, an author who helped me survive my early life in an overly religious upbringing, the creation of this graphic novel has been a labor of love.
I have recently reworked my early backgrounds and am now steadily but a little slowly, working my way through the book.

I based the Emily character off of imagery of my daughter, Mystery, who loved every minute of dressing up in costumes and posing for Emily.
The cat drawings were based off photos taken of our own sweet cat, Whimsy.
Other characters were friends or acquaintances who agreed to wear the costumes I had hand sewn and then pose for me, so that I could attempt to draw the imagery as accurately as possible.

My husband and I actively visited museums and houses from the era that had been kept in pristine condition, to ensure that we kept the backgrounds as historically accurate as we could.
We spent quite awhile breaking down the book into something I figured I could reasonably complete: keeping all the important parts and the overall story intact.
We're so excited to bring it to you!

This isn't a newsletter sign-up, but more of a way for me to reach out to you once the graphic novel is complete, or to discover where and how to purchase it. I will never sell or share your information.
You might say that this is a way for "kindred spirits" to connect. Thanks for connecting.
